Soil Nailing

Application Description:

Soil nailing is a reinforcing and stabilization method that uses grouted tension-resisting and specially designed nails and bearing plates that provide either permanent or temporary support of the soil embankment, so that a wall can be constructed. A prefabricated drainage composite is needed to minimize hydraulic head pressure followed by an application of reinforced shotcrete on the exposed face. Depending on the project, intermediate or full face coverage may be required.

J•DRAIN drainage composites are engineered to capture water and reduce hydrostatic pressure while efficiently channeling the water away. The three dimensional core creates a high compressive strength and high flow capacity drainage channel and the fused filter fabric prevents soil intrusion into the flow channel. Our drainage composites provide a suitable substrate to apply the shotcrete.
