Maintenance Technician

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Detects faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to management
  • Ensures machine availability, reactively managing dysfunctional machinery with the Shift management
  • Ensures routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken
  • Assists with the process of the introduction of new machinery into the facility
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Diagnose and repair all types of industrial equipment using specialized experience in electrical and PLC controlled equipment.
  • Maintain electrical equipment including electric motors, control boxes, welders and P.L.C.’s
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical.
  • Repair and troubleshooting of mechanical, electric and hydraulic motors, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
  • Dismantle machines and removed parts for repair or disposal, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, and hoists.
  • Measure, cut, and bend conduit such as rigid EMT, PVC, and IMC utilizing hand tools and benders.
  • Execute preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, pneumatic/hydraulic systems and ammonia refrigeration systems.
  • Metal fabrication of aluminum, stainless and mild steel using TIG, MIG and ARC welders.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required, or an equivalent number of years of education and industrial maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with electrical and HVAC.
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment extrusion, winder, glue machines, and tape machines.
  • Safety is a priority at all times.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) and a solid understanding of data analysis software

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate, read and write effectively in English

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Standing and bending for extended periods of time
  • Stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing may be required occasionally
  • Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 75 pounds in a safe and prudent manner, as trained without straining
  • Ability to easily move through an approximately 72000 square foot manufacturing/warehouse building with forklifts and heavy machinery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to relay necessary information to co-workers
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and general office equipment
  • Correctable vision and hearing

Salary: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
